Well, I sat and watched the first of 10 videos. Each one is an hour and a half so it will take me a while to get through them. This first part detailed the birth of jazz from it’s mixed up roots of the French aristocracy, the military bands and the black roots, all together described as a “gumbo”.

It was pretty interesting though and nicely done. Historical black and white clips are mixed in with modern-day interviews with people whoe either were a part of the history or are experts in the matter. Each segment of the video is titled with a part of a quote from these interviews.
