20. Bake bread the old-fashioned way
Well, been thinking on this one all week. Finally today I just decided to do it. Unfortunately I woke up late so that decision didn’t happen till around 1 p.m. and I still needed to find a recipe and make sure we had the ingredients. That last part took a while because then I needed to verify how to mix in whole wheat flour into a white flour recipe, and how to substitute cake/pastry flour for bread/all-purpose flour.
In the end, 4 hours later, I took a loaf of bread out of the oven. It looked like bread, smelled like bread, tasted like bread… I did it! All by myself, I made a loaf of whole wheat bread. Tick this one off the list. I will probably do this again some time because I really want to get it right (not that I did too badly).
